The Thalassaemia and Haemophilia molecular reference laboratory provides a State-funded genetic testing service to confirm clinical diagnoses of Thalassemia and Haemophilia. The results of genetic testing for these disorders may inform therapeutic, family planning and reproductive choices. This service is offered free of charge to residents of Victoria who have a clinical diagnosis of Thalassaemia or Haemophilia A or B.
The service interfaces closely with the Monash Health Translational Precinct to facilitate translation of state-of-the-art research technology into diagnostic testing procedures for these disorders.
