Anatomical Pathology at Monash Health provides a full diagnostic service for routine histopathological examination as well as specialised pathology service for all of Monash Health hospitals/ clinics, some private clinics, Monash Breast Screen and Monash Health node of the Victorian Cancer Bio bank. The Unit ensures the highest possible quality of healthcare delivery. Our department has undergone a transformation to implement a state of the art specimen handling system that ensures the integrity of tissue samples. Anatomical Pathology staff also work on site with investigators to obtain the best quality tissue samples for microscopy diagnosis. In addition the department facilitates multidisciplinary meetings with the various clinical units to aid in patient management. Our specialised pathologists review histology from external private providers.
