Monash Pathology laboratories and collection rooms have undergone extensive renovations across both Monash Medical Centre Clayton and Dandenong Hospital. This has been a long term project with a vision to continue providing a valuable service to our community by expanding our testing profile and improved turnaround times in the laboratory and by adding extra facilities for blood collection.
Changes to Pathology facilities at Monash Medical Centre in Clayton and Dandenong Hospital incorporate refurbishment and renewal of our Collection rooms, Specimen Reception areas and our Biochemistry and Haematology/Blood Bank laboratories. The renovations have allowed us to facilitate the implementation of new automation bringing us to the forefront of innovation and technology. Our multi-million dollar investment in automation will mean significant improvements to the operation of our service.
The redevelopment of our collection rooms allows for a greater number of patients to be seen at any one time thereby reducing waiting times. The blood bank and specimen reception areas associated our Clayton laboratories have been relocated to streamline workflow assisting us with providing a more efficient service. The introduction of extensive automation into our core pathology laboratories at Clayton and Dandenong sites provides further capacity to manage increased workload and improve turnaround time for many Biochemistry and Haematology results.
